About Tunisian Crochet
Tunisian Crochet, also known as Afghan, Tricot (knitting in French) or other name has been around since the 19th century (1800s) and could even have been practised long before that period of time.

There are not many historic records about this age-old art but it is believed that this method of crocheting has been developed in different parts of the world, given its varied names.

Tunisian Crochet is a blend of knitting and crochet. It uses a long hook with a stopper at its end. In these days, the hook is attached to a flexible plastic or nylon to extend its length.

Much credits for the preservation and development of Tunisian Crochet goes to the Tunisian Crochet's enthusiasts in the U.S., Australia and Japan. It is their contributions and efforts in sharing and extending the life of this age-old art that we are able to see and get our hands on this craft here in Singapore (South-East Asia) where our country's history is shorter than this form of art.

Tunisian Crochet is easy to learn and quick to complete. There is no bad work in Tunisian Crochet, just pick a time when you are not feeling sleepy or tired to do it (you'll know why).
